N.Y. Knicks Are Back!! Next Stop The Playoffs!! [Apr. 17th, 2013|10:04 pm]

I'm watching the New York Knicks back up players smack around the Atlanta Hawks and loving it. Earlier today I had a argument with my idiot Ex. She said that the Knicks wouldn't get out of the first round of the playoffs this year. I told her enough already with the taunting B.S. as she's a idiotic Brooklyn Nets fan. She wouldn't relent with her painful taunts and ugly thoughts. I just about had enough of her guff and finally told her if she didn't shut her pie hole I would shut it for her. This dumb bitch kept on going. She said that Carmello Anthony was not a physical player and that he was over rated. Then she squawked how Tyson Chandler won't be back for the playoffs and how he was a dirty p[layer. That is when I had enough of her poison. I slashed her across the neck with an open hand or as it is called in martial arts 'a knife hand' she couldn't breath for a moment or two and that's when I stood over her yelling in her face "say it again bitch go again and say it again" I left when she got up crying and ran into the bathroom and locked herself in there. I told her as I was leaving, ''as soon as you come out I'll be here waiting to really make you cry you rotten bitch".... I hate that witch of a woman. She was only good for the occasional suck job and not much else. She's a heartless pill head who lives for Xanax. I really would like to crack her skull wide open. She got me hooked on ModeAlert. I was a speed freak because I needed a handful of pills just to get away from the bitch. I've been off the Nyquil for months now but feel like hitting a bottle right now just to calm my nerves. I should have rang her fucking bell. I'm very upset.

This is why she is my Ex, I really hate these arrogant Net fans. Ok, let's go Knicks!!

NBA.Com head-to-head points league? [Oct. 24th, 2007|04:49 pm]

For those of you who are members of Nbafans, and/or sports_debate, I apologize, because you've probably seen this post before. The weekend is just drawing closer and closer (which is when I want to schedule my draft), and I'm in dire need of some players for my fantasy league... I'd ATLEAST like 10, but right now I don't even have that many. I'd PREFER to have 12, but if I can get 3-4 people to make it 10, then I'll be good. Anyways... here's the post.

I posted about trying to find a good place to host a league before, and this is a semi-repost, but here it goes anyways. The NBA season starts up a week from now, so it's fantasy time for basketball fans. I'm not a fan of Rotisserie scoring, so I found a very good customizable set up in NBA.com's fantasy leagues. Think of it like the way fantasy football is set up. Weekly head-to-head, the person with the most points at the end of the week is the winner.

I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to set up the points yet, but I have a pretty good idea. I'm open to any suggestions if you've got any. I'm going to be using FG%, FT&, Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, Turnovers, and find some way to put 3 pointers made fairly in there. As of right now, I have the roster set up 1 PG, 1 SG, 1 G, 1 SF, 1 PF, 1 F, 1 C, and 1 Util, but that's subject to change, if anyone else has any ideas. If you're interested in joining the league, and/or have any suggestions, feel free to comment, or get in touch with me through AIM (screen name: dAdXeR).

Also, if you ARE interested, let me know what time would be best for you. Some more times have opened up since the last post I made. There are draft times open available all night from now until the season starts, so I'd have to set up the draft sometime before gametime on Tuesday night. I'd prefer to set it up early afternoon on Saturday (sometime before 2pm), but if enough people prefer another day/time, I'll do my best to accomodate everyone.

For those interested in auto-drafting, apparently NBA.com has a way to auto-draft using 2 lists (by player, and by position, so you can choose which postion you want to draft each round so you're not stuck with a roster full of guards). Hope to hearing from people looking to join soon, so I can get it set up by this weekend.

Evident Progress [Mar. 12th, 2007|10:25 pm]

Isiah Thomas had to demonstrate "evident progress" this season as the coach/GM of the Knicks in order to save his job. Of course, that begged the question as to what "evident progress" entailed. Well, now we know.

Thomas Shows 'Evident Progress'; Earns New Deal.

Apparently, "evident progress" means:

- Going 29-34 despite playing in a weak conference and despite having the highest payroll in the league where you're spending more money on players who are no longer on the roster (like Allan Houston, Jalen Rose, and Jerome Williams, among others) than some teams are spending on their active roster. But hey, they have 6 more wins than they did all of last year. Way to go Isiah! I smell Coach and GM of the Year.

- Barely clinging onto the #8 seed in the playoff race. Of course, I'm convinced that some Division-I teams could go .500 in the East and secure home-court advantage in at least the first round. The Kings, Sonics, and Warriors would probably be battling it out for the #1 seed if they were out East. Sure, the Knicks probably overachieved this year. I thought they would be threatening the '73 Sixers' mark for worst record of all time. Just because they weren't as terrible as most people thought they would be doesn't mean we should be erecting statues of Isiah outside MSG just yet.

- Injecting a sense of toughness and physicality, much like the "Bad Boys" teams in Detroit. Of course, by doing so, he helped trigger the biggest brawl of the year and nearly submarined their season in the process. Plus, his continued encouragement of Nate Robinson, the biggest little showboater and poor-sport in the NBA, is a lot like a Sith Lord tutoring his pupil. I always thought that Ron Artest crossed the line from intense but controllable complementary player to full-blown psychopath during his time in Indiana with Thomas as his coach. Don't be surprised if Nate lies down on a scorer's table or asks for time off to cut a rap album in the near future.

- Thomas has brought out the best in the likes of Eddy Curry, Stephon Marbury, and David Lee. Well, considering that Eddy Curry and Stephon Marbury were high lottery picks and believed by many to be future franchise players when they entered the NBA, I don't really see too much to brag about here. Plus, who is Eddy Curry competing against in the East? Shaq's been hurt for most of the year. Ben Wallace is a shadow of the player he was in Detroit. Zydrunas Ilgauskas has the mobility of an elephant. I don't even know who starts at center for the Celtics, Wizards, Hawks, and Nets. Other than Jermaine O'Neal, Dwight Howard, and Andrew Bogut (and that last one is quite the stretch), there's no one in the East who should be able to stand up to Eddy Curry. So, my question is, why isn't the guy averaging 25 and 10? He's at 19.3 and 7.1. 7.1 rebounds a game? When you're 7 feet and 280 pounds? And Marbury's supposed renaissance? He's putting up 15.8 ppg and 5.5 assists a game. He's not scoring. He's not passing. But hey, he thinks he's better than Steve Nash, so I guess that counts for something. As for David Lee, he's been great. Oh, Isiah tried to trade him for Darius Miles last year. He should be fired (or forced to explain himself) just for coveting Darius Miles in the first place.

- No sexual harassment suits since he became coach. Well, that's true. Thank goodness for small favors, I guess.

After last year's disaster, any kind of improvement would have probably been enough to show the kind of "evident progress" that James Dolan was looking for. Just like if you survived the Bubonic Plague, then smallpox is no big deal. Congrats New York fans. You're stuck with Isiah for at least one more year. If he continues to show this kind of "evident progress," then you should be planning that championship parade sometime in 2028.

How many more games of Jamal Crawford tossing up bricks do we have to endure this season? I thought he turned a corner last year (Larry Brown's 1 positive development) but clearly he is back to square 1 this season. That 11-23 performance a few games ago, and 3-11 so far tonight. I'm getting really tired of this chump and wish the Knicks would unload him.

NEWS FLASH TO THE KNICKS BACKCOURT - YOU ARE NO LONGER THE FOCAL POINT OF THIS OFFENSE, DISH THE BALL INSIDE TO CURRY, FRYE, AND LEE.

Recent murmurs have Francis and the Knicks discussing a buyout. Pleasepleasepleaseplease!
(though both parties deny such a development - of course they would because it would be detrimental to Francis if news got out he wanted a buyout)

Nate Robinson, JR Smith, Jared Jefferies, and Carmelo Anthony. What a bunch of thugs. I never bought into that League of Thuggery BS until now. But that's what the NBA really is. A bunch of overpaid, no good hood rats running around balls out swinging their cocks at one another. Last night proved it.

Nate, we all know you have a Napolean complex, think you are a better player than you are, and now you have to show everyone you're bigger than you're 5'9'' height. Way to instigate shit.

JR Smith, must take a lot to tackle a guy half your size and take it into the stands. Next time STFU and just take the free throws.

Melo - the cheapshot punch when things were winding down and the backpedaling that directly followed, that was bad enough. But look at the video, after the intial foul and jabbering, he flys in from the backcourt and initiates some shoving - way to perpetuate everything. It's subtle and kind of in the background of some of the footage but it's there.

Jared Jefferies - ARE YOU ON CRACK? I'm all about protecting your teammates. But after Melo's cheapshot, there was no immediate danger. Chasing after Melo like that and escalating the whole situation - purely a macho thing. Let the refs and the NBA deal with Melo. Imagine, if Jefferies had gotten free and gotten at Melo or whoever, how much more ugly the whole thing would have been.

I enjoy a good fight...in HOCKEY and boxing. NOT BASKETBALL, and least of all PROFESSIONAL basketball.

Grow the fuck up, and someone, PLEASE! learn to take the high road.

Bunch of thugs.

Oh and Mardy Collins - 2nd night in a row committing a flagrant foul in garbage time - guess you're Isiah's hitman?

I don't have a problem with the hard foul because the Nuggets were running up the score, and the strip of Lee that led to the fastbreak - why was Denver still playing such hard D when the game was over and decided? My problem here is everything that followed the hard foul because these guys proved that they are immature, petty, and nothing but thugs.

I wonder if Isiah is going to trade for Allen Iverson. That way he can fulfill his dream of having a starting five consisting entirely of shoot-first point guards. He can offer something like David Lee, Channing Frye, Quentin Richardson, and whatever #1 pick is left over the next several years. Who needs young, affordable, talented players who haven't hit their peaks?
